Personalised Cat Collars

Give your kitty the best chance of getting home with one of our personalised cat collars! Your telephone number is printed big and bold on the collar, making it easy for someone to contact you if your cat gets lost or injured.

Even if your cat is microchipped (recommended), a personalised cat collar means you can be contacted sooner.

With a phone number printed on the collar, there’s no need for a tag which can annoy the cat and also get caught on things, resulting in the collar being pulled off. Our customers tell us that their cats lose fewer collars!

We can print whatever you’d like (within the character limits described below). Below are some examples. If you order a long health message which doesn’t leave room for a phone number, you can ask us to print your phone number on the inside (no extra charge).

We offer two types of personalised cat collar: Personalised Soft (on this page) which are super soft and comfortable and offer more text and positioning options, and Personalised Reflective which are super reflective.

Please read before ordering:
– Do not order if your kitten is less than 6 months old!
– To wear our collars, your kitten/cat must be at least 6 months old and weigh at least 2.75 kg. If younger or smaller, please do not order because the collar will not be suitable.
– Our cat collars are all the same size, adjustable from 20.5 to 32.5 cm (for necks that measure 17.5 to 29.5 cm).
– Our cat collars tend to fit from about 6 months, but please check that your kitten/cat’s neck measures at least 17.5 cm snug. If your kitten/cat is at least 6 months old but their neck is less than 17.5 cm snug, please ask us to shorten a collar to fit.
– You are selecting a text position, not a collar size. With ‘Kitten’ and ‘Very Small’ text positioning options, we adjust a standard cat collar down to its smallest size. It is not a smaller collar. Please see the images below.
– We don’t recommend ‘Split’ text positioning unless you’ve had it before and it happens to work for your cat. In many cases, the gap in the text is in the wrong place. We recommend ‘Straight Across’ instead. With either option, the adjustment slider is likely to land on 1-2 characters of text.
– Each text positioning option has a character limit including spaces. Please note the character limit for the text positioning option you choose and stay within that limit (don’t keep typing).
– If you exceed the limit, we may use standard abbreviations (ST for Street, RD for Road, CL for Close, LA for Lane, etc.). If we’re not able to abbreviate it to bring it within the limit, we will need to contact you by email or text, and this may delay your order.
– When you adjust the collar to fit your cat, the adjustment slider will land on 1-2 characters of your text. This is not an issue because anyone finding your cat will still make an effort to read it.
– Cat collars are not indestructible. Please follow the advice that comes with the collar in order to prolong its life.

About bells:
– If you order one of these collars without a bell, we also remove the little metal ring that it is attached to and replace it with a black plastic strapkeeper to keep the webbing from gaping. Neither the metal ring nor the strapkeeper is suitable for attaching a tag.
– If you require a D-ring to be added at the front of the collar, please request this in the Special Instructions field in the Checkout.
– Please do not try to remove the bell yourself as you may damage the collar.

HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR TEXT POSITION

COLLAR SIZE AND TEXT POSITIONING

Please read this section if you haven’t ordered from us before, are unsure about text positioning, or need ideas for your text. If you’d like help with your order, please contact us.

Our cat collars are all the same size, adjustable from 20.5 to 32.5 cm (for necks that measure 17.5 to 29.5 cm). Please note that you are choosing a text position, not a collar size. They tend to fit normal size kittens from about 6 months, but it depends on the size and breed.

For your cat’s safety and comfort, you must wait until he is at least 6 months old and the collar fits properly. The guideline is that you should be able to fit only 1-2 fingers (flat) between the collar and the neck, so that it’s comfortable but not loose.

We use the same adjustable collar for all text positioning options. The option you choose tells us where to print your text.

Each text positioning option has a character limit including spaces. Please note the character limit for the text positioning option you choose and stay within that limit (don’t keep typing).

If you exceed the limit, we may use standard abbreviations (ST for Street, RD for Road, CL for Close, LA for Lane, etc.). If we’re not able to abbreviate it to bring it within the limit, we will need to contact you by email or text, and this may delay your order.

When you adjust the collar to fit your cat, the adjustment slider may land on part of the text. This doesn’t bother most people and in our experience anyone who finds your cat will make an effort to read the text. If you’d like to avoid this happening, please contact us.

Kitten less than 6 months old: Please wait until your kitten is 6 months old before ordering.

Kitten 6-12 months old: Order ‘Kitten 6+ Months’. Check that his neck measures at least 17.5 cm snug and, if not, ask us to shorten the collar. Please see ‘How To Measure Your Kitten/Cat’s Neck’ at the end of this section.

Adult cat with a very small neck: Order ‘Very Small Adult 1+ Years’. Check that his neck measures at least 17.5 cm snug and, if not, ask us to shorten the collar. Please see ‘How To Measure Your Kitten/Cat’s Neck’ at the end of this section.

Adult cat 1 Year or older: Order ‘Adult 1+ Years Straight Across’.

KITTEN 6-12 MONTHS

24 CHARACTERS MAX (INCLUDING SPACES)

For normal size kittens that are at least 6 months old and still growing. (Not for kittens/cats less than 6 months old.)

If your kitten hasn’t worn one of our collars before and is small for his age, please check that his neck measures at least 17.5 cm snug. See below for how to measure your cat’s neck.

If your kitten is 6 months old but his neck measures less than 17.5 cm snug (see below for how to measure your kitten’s neck), we can shorten a collar to fit him. It will still be adjustable but from a smaller starting point. You can tell us your kitten’s snug neck measurement in the Special Instructions field when you check out.

We adjust the collar to its smallest size and print to the right of the adjustment slider. When you adjust the collar to fit your kitten’s neck, the adjustment slider may land on part of the text. With a growing kitten, there’s no way to avoid this.

As your kitten grows, you will need to move the adjustment slider from the left to right to make the collar bigger. Kittens grow quickly, so please check the adjustment daily.

With a growing kitten, it works best to print the phone number last as shown in these examples.

VERY SMALL ADULT 1+ YEARS

For cats at least 1 year old but with a very small neck.

We adjust the collar to its smallest size and print to the right of the adjustment slider. When you adjust the collar to fit your cat’s neck, the adjustment slider may land on part of the text. If this will bother you, please contact us.

If your cat’s neck measures less than 17.5 cm snug (see below for how to measure your cat’s neck), we can shorten a collar to fit him. It will still be adjustable but from a smaller starting point. You can tell us your cat’s snug neck measurement in the Special Instructions field when you check out.

If you need a long health message on the outside (as shown on the third example below), you can ask us to print your phone number on the inside (no extra charge).

The maximum number of characters for this option is 24 including spaces.

ADULT 1+ YEARS STRAIGHT ACROSS

30 CHARACTERS MAX (INCLUDING SPACES)

For cats at least 1 year old and normal size for their age. This is our most popular size.

We print straight across starting from the left. When you adjust the collar to fit your cat’s neck, the adjustment slider may land on part of the text. If this will bother you, please contact us.

If you need a long health message on the outside (as shown on the third example below), you can ask us to print your phone number on the inside (no extra charge).

The maximum number of characters for this option is 30 including spaces.

ADULT 1+ YEARS SPLIT (NOT RECOMMENDED)

24 CHARACTERS MAX (INCLUDING SPACES)

This option is only for customers who have ordered it before and it happens to work for their cat. In many cases, when you adjust the collar to fit your cat, the gap in the text will be in the wrong place.

We position the adjustment slider in the centre of the collar and print to the left and right of it. This is only possible when there are two sections of text, e.g., phone number and something else.

When you adjust the collar to fit your cat, it’s very likely that the gap between the two text sections will be in the wrong place and the adjustment slider may land on part of the text. For this reason, we recommend ‘Adult 1+ Years Straight Across’ instead.

If you need a long health message on the outside (as shown on the third example below), you can ask us to print your phone number on the inside (no extra charge).

The maximum number of characters for this option is 24 including spaces. If you enter more than two text sections or more than 24 characters including spaces, we will need to print it as ‘Adult 1+ Years Straight Across’ instead.

HOW TO MEASURE YOUR KITTEN/CAT’S NECK

You only need to measure your kitten/cat’s neck if it’s small and possibly less than 17.5 cm.

To measure your cat’s neck: With your cat standing or sitting up (not lying down), use a piece of string and then measure that. Don’t use a tape measure or ribbon as this isn’t as accurate on small necks. What you want is a snug neck measurement – don’t put 2 fingers underneath.

Please be as accurate as possible, in centimetres if possible, but we can also work in inches.

Please be EXACT, for example, instead of an even 16 cm or 17 cm, it might actually be 16.6 cm – a small difference which makes a big difference on the collar. If your measurement isn’t exact, the result may not be what you wanted. However, we know from experience that anyone finding a cat will make an effort to read the text.
