Kitty Collars is brought to you by Marla and Rob who really love cats and care about their safety. And what a great job we have, helping cat lovers find the safest, cutest, comfiest cat collars.
In 1997, our quiet house became chaos when we adopted 9 week old kittens Flo and Rosie. In 2009, we adopted Wilf who sadly was only with us for a short time. In 2012, we adopted young Timmy. And in 2015, we adopted huge Teddy.
Our cat Flo gets the credit for starting Kitty Collars. One day in 2004, she hobbled through the cat flap with her front leg caught up in her elasticated collar. We were very concerned, but thought it was a one-off. When it happened again, we looked into it further and learned of the potential dangers of elasticated collars. We decided to seek out a safer alternative, discovered quick-release clasps, and Kitty Collars was born!
Quick-release cat collars (also called breakaway cat collars or snap-open cat collars) are designed to snap open quickly if your cat gets caught on something. They are the safest type of cat collar and recommended by UK vets and animal welfare organisations. We sell only quick-release cat collars and check every clasp before shipping to you.
Since 2004, we have raised awareness of cat collar safety. Unfortunately, many retailers still sell dangerous cat collars, which makes us question how much they love cats.
We specialise in personalised cat collars where we print your phone number directly on the collar, making it easy for someone to contact you if your cat gets lost or injured.
We are passionate about animal welfare and rescue, so from the very start we have been a sponsor of Cat Chat, a UK registered charity that helps find loving, permanent homes for over 10,000 unwanted and abandoned cats every year. By shopping at Kitty Collars, you’re supporting this fantastic charity too! If you’re thinking of adding to your feline family, please see the lovely cats and kittens needing homes on www.catchat.org.
